“Garlic contains allicin and sulfur, which mosquitoes find overwhelming. Studies have
shown that garlic-based repellents can help reduce mosquito activity in treated areas —
especially when combined with other natural ingredients like citronella and peppermint.
Mosquitos hate the sulfur compounds in garlic. Garlic spray can be effective for repelling mosquitos especially in smaller outdoor areas like patios, gardens, and animal enclosures.
After spraying, the strong smell fades for humans but lingers in the air and on surfaces,
confusing mosquito scent receptors.
